Beautiful Border Country

This blog was inspired by the Google photos app, you know how it groups your pics into memories and collections? It came up with a group of shots of the stunning scenery around here, and I had to share. Sometimes when you live somewhere, you just…forget how amazing it is! You get used to it. But then you see it through fresh eyes (or, in this case, Google's eyes!) and it's like you're seeing it for the first time!

Bursting with photos showcasing the stunning beauty surrounding The Wagon. Come and see it for yourself – you won't be disappointed!

The majestic Black Mountains, including the iconic Hay Bluff, are just a stone's throw away! And keep an eye out for the wild ponies that roam these hills. Our nearest pub is a delightful little trek away in the charming village of Gladestry, accessible via the scenic Offa's Dyke Path.

The views are incredible, with Disgwylfa Hill sweeping down opposite The Wagon (nestled in the corner of the field amongst the mauve flowers!), and Newchurch Hill rising majestically behind it. And if you're lucky, you might witness the breathtaking inversions along the Wye and the Arrow – truly a spectacular sight!" tincidunt.

Inversions along the Wye

The River Wye gracefully meanders through the landscape, joined by smaller rivers like the Arrow, which flows directly through Newchurch village. These waterways create a dynamic and ever-changing scenery, adding another layer of beauty to this already stunning area.
